These terms govern your use of aeocontent.ai and all related services operated by AEO Content, Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). By using our website, API, or any of our services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. What We Provide
AEO Content provides AI Engine Optimization services including:
- AEO Audits - automated analysis of how AI engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) find, interpret, and cite your website
- Visibility Reports - real query testing against AI engines to measure citation performance
- Industry Benchmarks - aggregate scoring data across sectors and categories
- Content Pipeline - AI-assisted content production for paying customers
- Public API - programmatic access to audit data for API subscribers
2. Accounts
You can use our free audit without an account. For the customer portal and API access, you authenticate via one-time codes sent to your email or phone. You are responsible for keeping your contact information current and your API keys secure.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse our services, or remain inactive for an extended period. We will notify you before any termination unless immediate action is required to prevent harm.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Submit URLs you do not own or have authorization to audit (auditing a competitor's public site is fine - impersonating them is not)
- Use the service to harass, defame, or harm others
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, bot detection, or other security measures
- Scrape, mirror, or redistribute our audit data in bulk without permission
- Use the service for any illegal purpose
- Submit malicious URLs designed to compromise our systems
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits
4. Intellectual Property
Our content
Audit reports, visibility reports, benchmark data, scoring methodology, and all content on aeocontent.ai are owned by AEO Content, Inc. You may share and link to your own audit reports. You may not reproduce our methodology, scoring algorithms, or benchmark datasets for commercial purposes without written permission.
Your content
You retain ownership of the websites and content you submit for audit. By submitting a URL, you grant us permission to access and analyze the publicly available content at that URL for the purpose of generating your audit.
Content pipeline output
Content produced through our paid content pipeline service belongs to you once delivered and paid for. We retain the right to use anonymized, aggregate insights from content production to improve our services.
5. Payments and Refunds
Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Prices are listed on our pricing page. All fees are in US dollars and non-refundable once services have been delivered.
If you are unsatisfied with a paid service, contact us within 14 days and we will work with you to resolve the issue or provide a credit toward future services.
6. API Terms
The following additional terms apply to API subscribers:
Access and authentication
API keys are personal and non-transferable. Each key creation requires fresh SMS verification. You must not share keys, embed them in client-side code, or include them in public repositories. If a key is compromised, revoke it immediately through the portal and create a new one.
Rate limits
Each API key has per-minute and per-day rate limits (defaults: 60 requests/minute, 1,000 requests/day). These may be adjusted per-key. Exceeding rate limits returns a 429 status code. Intentionally and repeatedly exceeding limits may result in key revocation.
Key revocation
We reserve the right to revoke API keys that violate these terms, exceed usage patterns that suggest abuse, or are associated with terminated accounts. We will notify you before revoking a key unless immediate action is required.
Data usage
Data retrieved through the API is licensed for your internal use and display on your own properties. You may not resell, redistribute, or build competing products using our API data. Aggregate statistics derived from API data may be shared publicly with attribution.
API logging and retention
Every API request is logged (endpoint, status, IP address, response time). Logs are retained for 90 days and then automatically deleted. Usage statistics are available in your portal dashboard.
Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee specific uptime percentages. The API is provided on a best-effort basis. We will communicate planned maintenance in advance when possible.
7. Audit Scores and Accuracy
Our audit scores represent a point-in-time analysis of your website against our scoring criteria. We do not guarantee that a high score will result in AI citations, traffic, or revenue. AI engine behavior changes frequently and is outside our control.
Scores are generated through a combination of automated analysis and AI evaluation. While we work to ensure accuracy, we cannot guarantee that every finding or score is perfectly precise. Use audit results as directional guidance, not absolute truth.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AEO Content, Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. This includes lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or any damages related to actions you take based on audit results.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AEO Content, Inc. and its founders, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, or damages (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
10. Privacy
Your use of the service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as our service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify active users.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
13. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
